Perler Bead Pixel Art: Bridget
Project Description: “Bridget” from Guilty Gear XX. My first foray into Perler Bead Pixel Art. Probably shouldn’t have started this large, but am reasonably pleased with how it turned out. <Click for more info

3D Printed Elephant
Project Description: For Christmas this year, Kelli and I wanted to make presents for folks, and since my mom collects little elephants, I reckoned I’d sculpt her one! I’d had this idea for a while, but now that I have a 3D Printer, there was really no excuse. Measures ~2 inches cubed. <Click for more info

You Can't Choose Your Family
Project Description: The goal of this project was to model/carve an ice cream novelty for Kelli for a painted sculpture she came up with. Originally modeled in 3DSMAX back in October, this piece has been sitting around for a while, but finally got sealed, so here it is. Still available for purchase! <Click for more info>

RockBand Plaque
Project Description: I’m a Nut for the video game Rock Band, and since I’ve got several friends on the dev team over there, I reckoned I’d show my support by fabricating a couple of logo plaques, one of which I got autographed by the team (a practice I’ve performed several times before) This is one of the fastest projects I’ve ever done, since the graphic logo does...

The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
Project Description: This is a plaque I made as fan-art for the Bethesda Softworks game “Fallout 3”. Relief was sculpted with real in-game assets, although I ended up modeling the vault door myself. Kelli did all the finish and painting work. <Click for more info

Metroid Triptych
Project Description: This was a project of Kelli’s for which I provided only a small amount of carving support. Converted from a Dartboard cabinet, this triptych makes use of machine-carved pieces for the Metroids on either leaf as well as the “Power Tank” elements on either side of the painting. painting, most design, and finishing by Kelli. <Click for more info>

Arrow Tattoos
Project Description: The concept behind these is that of the Artistic Process. The blank square (outside the main compositional rectangle) represents “Concept”. It’s potential. It’s anything. The Yellow triangle… that represents “Execution”. That’s the Doing of The Thing. It’s hazard Yellow ‘cuz I like warning pictograms and OSHA signage...

Bever Fever Dream
Project Description: This project came from one of the myriad mask doodles I’m always doing (see also “Jumper”) and an interest in tackling a more complicated woodblock print (see also “Gay Bomb”). Like the Gay Bomb, these prints were made in a run of 50, with the intention of selling off most of ‘em. <Click for more info>

CrocodILE
Project Description: This Project was a MAME cabinet commissioned by my studio (Iron Lore Entertainment, Hence the “ILE” in the title). Assembled at a cost of close to $2,000, this is the most badass arcade cabinet I’ve ever built (at least, this was cooler than the other one). <Click for more info>

Jumper
Project Description: Originally one of my myriad mask doodles, this rare full-body design was coincidentally designed especially conveniently for carving. In addition to the 12” tall carved wooden version shown here, I’ve molded and cast several plastic, plaster, and concrete editions in 3.5” and 5” tall sizes. <Click for more info>

Hey! 4 Eyes!
Project Description: Coming in at almost 24” wide, this is the largest carving I’ve undertaken so far. Designed as a surprise gift for a friend, it was also the first time I had experimented with bas-relief ribbon sculpting. Kelli did the painting/finish work. <Click for more info

2 Stax Shirt
Project Description: As a going away present for a co-worker of mine (KillingPeople), I designed a logo to be silkscreened onto a shirt. The logo (pictured here) references the two smokestacks that used to be part of the Clock Tower building where we all worked. “Two Stacks” became our nickname for the town where we lived and worked (Maynard, MA). In addition to a couple of shirts, the design was...

Life is Amassive
Project Description: Cover for a Mix CD. Originally designed to be a carved wooden CD case, I wanted a design that represented the concept and the recipient. I settled on a graphic lotus flower design, under which was some wistful prose opining on the nature of life. I still want to explore the concept of a carved CD case, but it’ll have to wait for a future mix, I suppose (curse the...

Gay Bomb
Project Description: This project was inspired by a hilarious weapon proposal I read about. It was my first woodblock print with CNC-cut blocks, and the registration turned out acceptably, despite the fact that it was completely eyeballed. Prints from the series are still commercially available, and I had stickers of the design made up, as well. <Click for more info>
