Perler Bead Pixel Art: Bridget
Project Description:
“Bridget” from Guilty Gear XX. My first foray into Perler Bead Pixel Art. Probably shouldn’t have started this large, but am reasonably pleased with how it turned out.

Project Description:
For Christmas this year, Kelli and I wanted to make presents for folks, and since my mom collects little elephants, I reckoned I’d sculpt her one! I’d had this idea for a while, but now that I have a 3D Printer, there was really no excuse. Measures ~2 inches cubed.

Project Description:
The goal of this project was to provide asset support to Volpin Props for a piece he was constructing. The commissioned piece was a Helmet, representing the mascot of the gaming news site Destructoid.

Project Description:
The goal of this project was to model/carve an ice cream novelty for Kelli for a painted sculpture she came up with. Originally modeled in 3DSMAX back in October, this piece has been sitting around for a while, but finally got sealed, so here it is. Still available for purchase!

Project Description:
I’m a Nut for the video game Rock Band, and since I’ve got several friends on the dev team over there, I reckoned I’d show my support by fabricating a couple of logo plaques, one of which I got autographed by the team (a practice I’ve performed several times before) This is one of the fastest projects I’ve ever done, since the graphic logo does most of the work for me. That being said, it still took me Forever to get around to painting, sealing, and sending the piece out for autographing (Was originally carved in October).

This Project was my first trophy commission. The assignment: First and Second place trophies to award the winners of the Norfolk County (Virginia) Rifle Range’s “Back up Gun” match.

Project Description:
This is a plaque I made as fan-art for the Bethesda Softworks game “Fallout 3”. Relief was sculpted with real in-game assets, although I ended up modeling the vault door myself. Kelli did all the finish and painting work.

Project Description:
This was a project of Kelli’s for which I provided only a small amount of carving support. Converted from a Dartboard cabinet, this triptych makes use of machine-carved pieces for the Metroids on either leaf as well as the “Power Tank” elements on either side of the painting. painting, most design, and finishing by Kelli.

Project Description:
The concept behind these is that of the Artistic Process. The blank square (outside the main compositional rectangle) represents “Concept”. It’s potential. It’s anything. The Yellow triangle… that represents “Execution”. That’s the Doing of The Thing. It’s hazard Yellow ‘cuz I like warning pictograms and OSHA signage and whatnot… That colour is the colour of Action. of Taking Notice. So yeah. The whole arrow represents the process from concept to execution, and they’re coursing out of my hands as a sort of permanent symbol of accomplishing what I imagine. That’s the long, pretentious explanation, anyway. The short one is that I like arrows. =)

Project Description:
This project came from one of the myriad mask doodles I’m always doing (see also “Jumper”) and an interest in tackling a more complicated woodblock print (see also “Gay Bomb”). Like the Gay Bomb, these prints were made in a run of 50, with the intention of selling off most of ‘em.
